The sonic contribution of an RCA plug is one of the most hotly debated — and most frequently underestimated — factors in high-end audio. Keith Louis Eichmann, arguably Australia's most influential connector designer, has devoted his life's work to this very question. His Bullet Plug, introduced in 2000, rewrote the rules. The Harmony series, launched in 2014 under the banner of his company KLE Innovations, goes further still. And at its pinnacle stands the KLEI™Perfect Harmony: the most consequential result of decades of research into materials science, geometry, and signal-path optimisation.
As the successor to the Absolute Harmony, the Perfect Harmony marks the absolute apex of the Harmony family — identified by its distinctive orange KLE logo. It delivers perceptibly greater depth, deeper and more controlled bass, and a micro-detail retrieval that gives even seasoned audiophiles pause. That this performance resides in an unassuming compact plug is entirely in keeping with Keith Louis Eichmann's guiding philosophy: Simple is best. Less is more.

The Perfect Harmony sounds more mature than the Absolute Harmony in every meaningful respect. Most immediately audible is the extension of the bass register: deeper reaching, with outstanding control and significantly greater texture — not bloated, but sculpted, physically palpable low frequencies. The soundstage expands in both depth and width, yet without any artificial sense of inflation: performers and instruments are placed with greater precision, with more air between individual sources.
On acoustically demanding recordings, the Perfect Harmony reveals its true character: the acoustics of the recording venue — reverb tails, early reflections, the subtle resonance of a concert hall — are reproduced with a naturalness simply absent from budget connectors. Plucked instruments benefit from a more defined staccato effect; strings in the upper register sound smoother and more realistic; even sibilants in vocal recordings become more natural and less fatiguing.
For phono connections in particular, the Perfect Harmony is ideally suited: the signal from a cartridge is microscopic and highly sensitive. Any distortion introduced at the connector costs information directly — which the Perfect Harmony addresses through minimised distortion mechanisms at every level. It is equally well suited to digital SPDIF connections, where its high characteristic impedance makes it compatible with 50-, 75- and 110-ohm applications with minimal jitter.
Technology & Construction
At the heart of the Perfect Harmony lies the proprietary layering process. This is emphatically not simple silver plating — KLE Innovations applies a mathematically modelled multi-layer build of copper and silver in its purest, most conductive form. Resulting conductivity is extrapolated at over 101% IACS, with peak values reaching 105% IACS. By comparison, tin — found in many budget plugs — achieves only 15% IACS; rhodium 35–38%, gold 65–75%. The deliberate avoidance of poor conductors is as much a part of the design as the choice of the best.
A second key element is the single-point star-grounding architecture. Conventional RCA plugs route the ground as a coaxial ring around the signal pin — promoting inductive reactances, capacitive coupling, and micro-arcing effects. The Perfect Harmony breaks entirely with this logic: ground is carried as a single point, and the ground pin features thread teeth for secure star grounding to a metal housing. The result is a blacker background, greater transparency, and a substantially lower noise floor.
The housing is made from glass-filled high-temperature thermoplastic, which tolerates high-silver-content solder and the elevated temperatures it requires — an important detail for ambitious DIY builders who refuse to compromise on solder quality. The V-shaped solder tags on the pin heads facilitate easy attachment of both fine and heavy gauge conductors. The snap connection seats firmly but releases tool-free. Cable outer diameters between 4 and 9.5 mm are accommodated — the grommet is not included and is available separately on request.
For optimal sonic performance, KLE Innovations recommends a burn-in period of at least 150 hours — a recommendation experienced users will take seriously.
Position in the Harmony Series
The Harmony family spans six tiers, ascending in materials and manufacturing refinement: Classic, Copper, Silver, Pure, Absolute — and at the summit, the Perfect Harmony. Each step delivers a measurable and audible improvement in conductivity and signal purity. The Perfect Harmony is therefore not a simple model revision, but the result of an iterative development process in which every preceding tier provided the insights for the next.
Those stepping up from the Pure Harmony will notice a clear opening of the soundstage and greater bass texture. Those moving from the Absolute Harmony will find primarily a finer resolution of harmonic overtones and a still more realistic spatial presentation. The Perfect Harmony is the instrument for those who want to extract the last achievable measure of acoustic information from a fine cable — without adding a new component to the system.
